After having successful surgery to repair his knee back in July and then having checked himself into a substance abuse program in October, Price has had setbacks since November including Covid-like symptoms.
Price has been with the Canadiens since being drafted 5th overall in 2005. This would of been Price's 15th season in Montreal and is in the midst of an�eight-year, $84 million contract he received from former Montreal Canadiens general manager Marc Bergevin who was fired mid season and replaced by new general manager Kent Hughes.
Price is 34, he's a former�Hart�Trophy winner as the NHL's Most Valuable Player during the 2014-15 season, as well as a two-time Vezina Trophy winner as the NHL's top goaltender and is the winningest goaltender in Montreal Canadiens history with a 360-247-79 record with a lifetime goals against of 2.50 and .917 save percentage.
