The National Hockey League is always looking for new ways to bring in more money. It started with helmet ads last season and this year we saw advertisements added to our precious jerseys.

While okay, i've been able to get over these jersey ads, but one thing that has blown my mind, in a very bad way, every time i've seen it is these new digital board ads.

There are countless times we've seen these things screw up and it just looks awful:

According to writer Greg Wyshynski, Gary Bettman actually believes these things are a success and fans like them:

Bettman says that digital dasherboard ad backlash is a «non-issue» because their polling indicates fans find games more watchable with those digital ads replacing physical ones

I dont know what fans took this NHL poll about them, but we have not heard one positive thing about these ads so far.

This looks awful and makes people want to stop watching, not the other way around.
