BREAKING: Gary Bettman Comments On The Corey Perry Situation
In breaking news, Gary Bettman has just made his first comments on the Corey Perry Situation.
Gary Bettman Comments On Corey Perry's Termination and Potential Return to NHL
During the latest Board of Governors meeting, Gary Bettman made comments on the Corey Perry situation in Chicago and his recent contract termination. Bettman said he is pleased with the results of the investigation done by Chicago, and that he would need to determine if a hearing would be required for Perry to return to the NHL.
Bettman says he is comfortable with results of Blackhawks investigation into Corey Perry, has not determined if the player will need to have a conversation/hearing with him to return
Bettman's comments are interesting as they reiterate that Chicago was in their right to terminate Perry's contract, and could give some insight into whether or not Perry will file a Grievance with the NHLPA.
Perry has until the end of January to file the grievance, and the trade deadline to sign a new deal if he is to play in the NHL this season. We will see if Bettman forces a meeting prior to any new contract being signed.
