Last season was historic for the Florida Panthers, winning the Presidents Trophy with a 58-18-6 record, good enough for 122 points.
Andrew Brunette took over as head coach only 9 games into the season after the team let Joel Quenneville go due to the Chicago Blackhawks Kyle Beach situation. Brunette led the team to the second round of the playoffs, eventually losing to the Tampa Bay Lightning.
The Florida Panthers then made the shocking decision to fire Brunette as head coach.
Brunette then joined the New Jersey Devils as an assistant coach for this season, and just like Florida last year, the Devils are having a great season.
The bad news though is now according to multiple sources, Brunette has been arrested today.
Brunette was allegedly arrested for driving while intoxicated in Broward county, Florida.
It's reported that Brunette has been taken into Custody and is facing charges of driving while intoxicated and failure to stop at a stop sign.
No other information has been made available at this time.
