BREAKING: Flames Announce Number Retirement
The Calgary Flames have announced that they will be retiring a franchise legend's number.
Kiprusoff's 34 To The Rafters
The Calgary Flames just announced that they will be retiring Miikka Kiprusoff's number 34 next season.
Kiprusoff played 11 of his 14 NHL seasons with the Flames and was quite effective with them winning a Jennings and Vezina trophy along the way.
He played 576 total games with the Flames where he won a total of 305 games with them. While he never won a Stanley Cup with the Flames, he was one of the biggest reasons they ever got close to one.
He is currently retired in his home nation of Finland away from the spotlight.
