Last night the San Jose Sharks were hosting the Calgary Flames, in what finished as a 5-2 win for Calgary.

When the third period began, things got a little hairy right off the faceoff. Elias Lindholm of the Flames cross checked Sharks Thomas Hertl a few times, which really upset him and he decided to two-hand slash Lindholm. This slash caught Lindholm right in the face, which resulted in only a two-minute penalty.

Today the Department of Player Safety announced that Thomas Hertl will have a hearing for his slash:

It will benefit Hertl that Lindholm was not injured, but Evgeny Kuznetsov received a suspension earlier this season for a blatant slash, so Hertl could be facing one as well.
