Alexander Ovechkin admits to taking some ''magic pills'' to play through injury
After losing to the Florida Panthers in 6 games in the opening round of the NHL playoffs Capitals captain Alex Ovechkin has indicated he was playing injured in the first round as the result of a late season injury.
Capitals captain Alex Ovechkin confirmed he had a left shoulder injury late in the season. He will not need surgery.
«I hit the boards and hit my shoulder, but in the playoffs I don't think it matters. If it hurts, you have some injections to do and you have some magic pills.»— Samantha Pell (@SamanthaJPell) May 15, 2022
Scoring 6 points in 6 games in the playoffs, and 90 points in 77 games in the regular season, you'd have to wonder how well Ovechkin could play without injury, especially at 36 years of age.
