"Obviously, he battles through absolutely everything, and, yeah, I don't think it's too good. I guess we'll have to wait and see what ends up happening, but I know he was really disappointed."
Unfortunately for Panthers fans, a new development about Tkachuk's health surfaced, and it could be a significant loss for Florida.
TVA Sports analyst Renaud Lavoie revealed in an intervention during last night's game between the Montreal Canadiens and the Ottawa Senators that Matthew, who missed the Panthers' game yesterday, could be forced to miss the rest of the regular season due to his injury.
"Right now, we are awaiting some very important medical results. We are hearing that it is possible that his season may be over.
We don't want his season to be over, but there is currently a certain level of concern surrounding Matthew Tkachuk, so the next few days will be very, very, very important for him."
Currently waiting for the results of his medical evaluations, fans are holding their breath about Tkachuk's health.
If Tkachuk were to miss the rest of the regular season, it could open the door for Panthers general manager Bill Zito to place him and his contract on LTIR and use that money to add talent at the trade deadline, taking advantage of the salary cap loophole.
Tkachuk is a proud competitor, and it's safe to say he would do all he can to return to the lineup in time for the playoffs.
Currently at the top of the Atlantic Division, the Panthers are almost certain to clinch their playoff ticket this season once again. Once they're in, they will be a tough team to beat as they look to win a second straight Stanley Cup.
