Possible date for NHL Lottery emerges
A possible date for the NHL lottery emerged in a new update shared by the insider Frank Seravalli.
This year's lottery will be crucial, as the top prospect Macklin Celebrini will be drafted first overall by the team that wins it.
Frank Seravalli believes the NHL will hold its annual draft lottery on May 6th or 7th.
He mentioned in a post on X that the lottery should be held in early-May, either the 6th or the 7th.
"Still fluid, but sounds like plan is for 2024 #NHLDraft Lottery to be held on May 6 or May 7.
#NHL is still working through playoff scheduling and finding appropriate TV window."
The lottery is always an interesting event, especially for fans that watched their teams lose all season long. This year, the jackpot is Macklin Celebrini, who'll be the first one to go at the draft.
The latest odds for the lottery are in and the San Jose Sharks are leading the race for Macklin Celebrini.
Currently, the San Jose Sharks are leading the race, with 25.5% chances of getting the first overall pick. Behind them, the Chicago Blackhawks at 13.5%, the Anaheim Ducks at 11.5%, the Columbus Blue Jackets at 9.5% and the Montreal Canadiens at 8.5% complete the top 5.
The Ottawa Senators, Seattle Kraken, Pittsburgh Penguins (the pick will to to the Sharks if the Penguins fall out of the top 10), Buffalo Sabres and Calgary Flames also have chances of getting the first pick.
Who do you think will get the first pick?
More to come.
