Connor Bedard, the Chicago Blackhawks' sensational rookie, opened up on his implication in the upcoming NHL draft, almost a year since his own selection with the first overall pick.
In fact, he discussed how happy he is to not be involved this year, after an eventful season.
Connor Bedard reveals that he won't be involved in the upcoming draft
With only a month left to the regular seasons, talks in the hockey community will be focused on the draft lottery and the playoffs.
Bedard opened up about the draft, stating he's happy to stay away from all the attention.
"It was awesome last year, but it's nice to be on the outside a little bit and just not be a part of it as much."
"I know a couple guys who are going through the (draft) process, it's exciting for them. I think for me, it was awesome last year but it's nice to kind of be on the outside a little bit."
This year's lottery will be special, as the stakes are high:
Macklin Celebrini will be up for grabs for the team that'll win the lottery.
Connor Bedard reveals his honest opinion on Macklin Celebrini: "He's a special player."
Even Bedard sees that he's a special player:
"He's a special player and what he's doing this year is remarkable. I don't know if it's been done at his age, obviously going as an underage and probably being one of the Hobey (Baker) finalists, I'm sure he'll be up there if not win it. It's been exciting to watch a guy like that. The NHL's probably pretty excited about him coming in"
The Blackhawks are in a great position to win the lottery, and we have to say that with Bedard, the two young players would be almost unstoppable.
