The Winnipeg Jets have been on fire to start the 2024/25 season, and now they've added Kevin He, the first Chinese-born player in NHL history.
The Winnipeg Jets may have a loaded NHL roster, but they've got plenty of talent in the organization as well, and on Tuesday, they locked down an intriguing prospect of the future.
This season however, he's taken his production to another level entirely, posting 23 goals and 43 points in just 29 games played, and as he stands at 6 feet tall exactly, he's got the size and the skill to be a very intriguing NHLer moving forward for Winnipeg.
Over his now 2.5 years with the IceDogs, He has posted an impressive 75 goals and 130 points through 159 games played, and although he's not likely to crack the Jets roster anytime soon, he looks to be a potential star of the future.
While He was born in China, he relocated to Canada when he was just six years of age, but given what a growing sport hockey is in China, He now has the opportunity to be a major role model for many players in the future as the game continues to grow there and around the world.
Only time will tell whether he will make it to the NHL and have a successful career, but with the numbers in the OHL looking good and the team clearly believes in him, He is certainly a player that people should keep a very close eye on moving forward.
