Tonight, new details have emerged regarding contract negotiations between the Winnipeg Jets and young star forward Cole Perfetti.

The Winnipeg Jets have been the center of several offseason rumors involving some of their biggest stars.
Beginning with goaltender Connor Hellebuyck and his trade rumors and now star 24-year-old forward Cole Perfetti has taken center stage as the Jets are reportedly struggling to get him extended.
Recent reports have confirmed that Perfetti has an arbitration hearing scheduled to sort out his disagreements with the Jets front office.

According to PuckPedia, the two sides will be forced to meet and work out a deal on July 20th if they cannot come to an agreement on their own.
Now, the Jets and Perfetti will likely have to increase negotiations to try and come to an agreement without using arbitration as there is said to be interest from both sides to still get a deal done.
Despite that interest from both sides, a deal has still not been struck leading to concern that there is too big of a gap between the two parties.
If Perfetti goes to arbitration, the recent contract signings involving the likes of Barrett Hayton and Leo Carlsson through offer sheets could drive his price up significantly.
Perfetti is still only 24 and before a down year in 2025-26 was looking to be the Jets' future number one center after already having a breakout year as the team's number two center.
It remains to be seen whether the two sides can come to an agreement, if not Perfetti likely signs a one-year contract after the arbitration hearing meaning GM Kevin Cheveldayoff takes a major risk of potentially having his price go up significantly this season.
As more news is provided on Perfetti's future with the Jets and the arbitration process between the two sides we will pass that news along to you.
