Emotional Dylan Strome comments on missing the birth of his child during last night's game in Montreal
Dylan Strome and the Capitals put up a great performance in Montreal, but now he's revealed that he missed the birth of his child during the game.
The Washington Capitals are off to another great start in 2025/26, and on Thursday that was all on display as the team put up 8 goals in a dominant win over the Montreal Canadiens, making it 15 goals in their last two games.
However, there was a much bigger story going on throughout the game that many fans may not have been aware of, as Dylan Strome's wife was giving birth throughout the game.
Strome details an amazing night for the young Capitals star
After the game, it was revealed that before the first period, Strome's wife went into labour, but given that he wouldn't have gotten home any quicker by leaving right away, he played the game and will now return home to see her and his newborn.
When asked about the situation, Strome obviously got quite emotional, having nothing but praise for his wife after she unexpectedly went into labour, with the Strome family welcoming their third child.
Obviously, this was something the whole team knew about, and after the victory, Head Coach Spencer Carbery and the rest of the team made sure to shout out the newest Strome, Sutton.
This is seemingly a very tight knit group in Washington as they were all behind their star forward through what must have been a very tough day emotionally and physically, and now, he's headed home with the rest of the team to see his newborn daughter.
