Dylan Strome Reveals Jakob Chychrun's Bizarre Obsession in His House

Fresh off signing a new eight-year deal with the Capitals, Jakub Chychrun won't need the money to buy lightbulbs, as Dylan Strome says he has none in his house.
His former teammate, Dylan Strome, recently revealed an interesting fact about the Capitals' defenseman: Chychrun has completely done away with light bulbs in his home, which means he'll have a lot more of that $72 million to spend elsewhere.
Strome spoke of this on one episode of the 'NHL Unscripted' podcast, but didn't explain Chychrun's thinking.
"He has a new thing every day," Strome said. "I heard yesterday that he's no light bulbs. He's doing candle-lit in his house now. Yeah, that's what his thing was yesterday. So he was on to - beeswax candles is what I heard is great for you. So now we're all talking about beeswax candles."
He did say he wasn't sure if it was the right move, though, as yes, being home avoids artificial light, but that you can't avoid it everywhere.
There is some scientific grounding to limit artificial lighting since, according to some research, some studies reveal disruption of circadian rhythms late in the evening.
Health researcher Ray Chepesiuk's research in his work 'Missing the Dark: Health Effects of Light Pollution' provides for consideration of the potential impact of negative aspects of artificial light on sleeping and overall well-being.
There is no official evidence that regular exposure to artificial light is bad
Yet there is no firm evidence that usual exposure is problematic. As a backup, beeswax candles may be an eco-friendly, all-natural alternative, though perhaps not convenient to use to light a whole home. However, bee products also support beekeepers and conservation.
Strome is likely accustomed to
Chychrun's unconventional health regimens, given that the pair were teammates with the Coyotes in Arizona for a few years and even shared a room at one point, presumably with light bulbs intact at the time.
Though foregoing artificial lighting is decidedly unorthodox, Chychrun is playing his way into the records with 43 points (18 goals, 25 assists) in 65 games, and was just rewarded with a massive contract. Whatever he's doing, it appears to be working.
