Jack Eichel and Vegas Golden Knights Come to Terms on Massive Extension

Multiple analysts have confirmed that the Vegas Golden Knights have re-signed forward Jack Eichel, who helped them win the Stanley Cup in 2023 and could have become a UFA next summer.
Vegas Golden Knights forward Jack Eichel could have become a free agent next summer, but he's decided that he likes life in Sin City and will be remaining with the team.
Multiple analysts have confirmed that the Golden Knights have re-signed Eichel to a new contract.

Eichel's deal is 8 years and carries an AAV (average annual value) of $13.5 million.
It's the 2nd major contract signing Vegas has undertaken, as they also now have Mitch Marner under contract (he was signed by the Maple Leafs before immediately being traded to Vegas) through 2033 with a $12 million AAV.

Eichel was taken with the 2nd overall pick in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft, one pick behind Connor McDavid, who was ironically also just re-signed to a new deal himself.
Eichel toiled for multiple years with the Sabres but never once made the playoffs, and made it clear he wanted a new situation after the team wouldn't let him undergo a surgical procedure he wanted.
He was then traded to the Golden Knights for Alex Tuch, Peyton Krebs, a 2022 1st round pick, and a 2023 2nd round pick.
Eichel and the Golden Knights won the Stanley Cup in 2023, the franchise's 1st title.
Last year, Eichel had a career-best 94 points (28G, 66A). In 616 career games with the Sabres and Golden Knights, he has 608 points (239G, 369A).
