Vancouver Canucks Insider Reveals New Details On New Offer To Head Coach Rick Tocchet

This past season was very tough on the Vancouver Canucks, and with some Head Coach positions opening up around the NHL, there has been plenty of speculation surrounding the future of current Head Coach Rick Tocchet.

At this point in time, it appears both parties want to work something out long-term, but to make that happen, insiders around the league have revealed they will have to give Tocchet a substantial increase.

While that hasn't happened to this point, things could be changing, with Jason Brough now revealing that the latest offer to Tocchet was something that the front office sees as 'generous'.

It's unclear exactly what the offer to Tocchet was and what he wants, but given his capabilities as a coach and the availability of coaching spots around the league, don't be surprised to see him become one of the highest paid Head Coaches in the entire league.

This could be a major step in the right direction for bringing Tocchet back beyond this summer, and given the way that their roster continues to grow and change, having a stabilizing presence behind the bench is ideal.

For now though, it doesn't appear as though anything is imminent, but with steps being taken in the right direction, there's likely to be a resolution to this entire situation before the end of the summer.
