Evander Kane emerging in trade talks days before the deadline

Vancouver Canucks forward Evander Kane, who is playing in his first year in a Canucks sweater, is heavily involved in trade rumours leading up to the March 6 deadline.
Nothing has gone right for the Vancouver Canucks this year, who are the worst team in the NHL and will go yet another year without making the playoffs.
This comes just two years after they won the Pacific Division and advanced to Game 7 of the Western Conference Semifinals against the divisional foe Edmonton Oilers.
They've already made two major trades this year, trading captain Quinn Hughes to the Minnesota Wild and Kiefer Sherwood to the San Jose Sharks.
Multiple other players remain embroiled in trade rumours, including Elias Pettersson, Conor Garland and Jake DeBrusk.
Another Canucks forward heavily involved in trade rumours is Evander Kane, who is playing in his first year in a Canucks sweater after a summer trade from the Oilers.
Kane is fully aware that he's involved in trade rumours, but is giving the politically correct answer of saying that there's always trade chatter in a hockey-mad market like Vancouver.
In this city there seems to be chatter 365 days of the year, 24/7. I'm shocked at how many hours of sleep some (media) guys must get. Whether you've been here for a year or you've been here for 10 years, there's always chatter. It's just part of the territory around here. - Evander Kane
So far this year, Kane has 25 points (9G, 16A) in 56 games played.
Evander Kane Is In His First Year With The Canucks
Kane had played the last handful of years with the Oilers before being traded to the Canucks during the summer after their second straight unsuccessful run to the Stanley Cup Final.
As a pending UFA, he could soon be out the door in Vancouver along with multiple other players in what has truly been a miserable year for the team.
