Elias Pettersson shares that he has been injured since January
Elias Pettersson had quite the lackluster performance in the 2024 Stanley Cup Playoffs and a recent revelation explains why the Vancouver Canucks star played poorly.
After scoring 102 points in the 2022-23 season, Elias Pettersson saw a bit of regression in 2023-24 scoring only 89 points and having an abysmal playoffs scoring only six points through 13 games.
While many thought Pettersson was too soft for the playoffs, this does not happen to be the case as he was struggling with a knee injury since January explaining both his regression and poor playoffs.
Elias Pettersson says he's been playing with a bad knee since January.
Elias Pettersson says he's been playing with a bad knee since January.
"The longer it went, the more pain I felt," Pettersson said.
Doesn't require any procedure this offseason, just time to rest.
Pettersson played in every single game for the Canucks this season and load-managing him may have been able to save the Canucks season. Pettersson will now take the offseason to rehabilitate and hopefully return to form for the 2024-25 campaign.
