Paul Bissonette weighs in on Sheldon Keefe's firing
After years of failure with the Maple Leafs, they finally moved on from Sheldon Keefe, with a prominent voice in hockey now weighing in on the situation.
It was an expected move, but after failing to make it deep in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, the Toronto Maple Leafs officially parted ways with Sheldon Keefe on Thursday.
There's been plenty of reaction to the move from Toronto, but now, known Maple Leafs supporter and host of the Spittin' Chiclets podcast Paul Bissonette has weighed in on the news.
Just woke up on my flight to Atlanta to the news. Thought Keefe did a solid job as Leafs head coach. He'll land on his feet somewhere. With the #RumourBoys reporting the Devils will land Berube, not sure where that leaves Toronto for a head coach? Should know pretty soon. #LeafsForever
Biz hints at several intriguing points in his post, reinforcing the idea that Craig Berube, a potential candidate for Toronto appears to be on his way to the New Jersey Devils. He also speculates that Keefe is likely to land on his feet somewhere in a hurry, and with the Maple Leafs looking to potentially make some huge moves this summer, it appears he believes they will be looking to get the search for a new coach over quickly.
There's plenty of things for Toronto to do this summer, and they've started with the biggest one, and now, they look to construct a roster ready for a Stanley Cup run under a new Head Coach, whoever that may be.
