Maple Leafs' goalie issues may be solved after latest announcement from Brad Treliving
The Maple Leafs are dealing with plenty of injury issues, but now, one key position may be figured out after the team announced a flurry of moves on Friday.
Despite many changes in the off-season, the Toronto Maple Leafs were seen as a top contender once more coming into 2025/26, but to this point they've struggled, posting a record of 8-8-2 as they have yet to find their consistency early in the season.
One major reason for that could be their injury issues, with the team needing to make some major goaltending moves recently as they deal with an injury to starter Anthony Stolarz.
Toronto Maple Leafs make major goaltending change
Just a day later, they've made another move, with the organization announcing that Joseph Woll has officially been activated and will join the roster for the first time this season after starting the 2025/26 campaign on Injured Reserve.
While the injury to Stolarz isn't seen as a long-term one, the team were set to struggle in net with Cayden Primeau being lost on waivers, as the team had Dennis Hildeby as their No. 1 in recent days.
Now however, they get Woll back after an impressive performance down in the AHL with the Toronto Marlies, and if he can remain healthy until Stolarz gets back, this team can prime themselves for a major run following their slow start.
Unfortunately, the moves also included placing captain Auston Matthews on Injured Reserve, meaning that this roster is going through plenty of change in recent times, but with so much talent, they'll be optimistic heading forward that they can turn things around and find their success once more.
