Maple Leafs Get Concerning Injury News Involving First-Liner Max Domi Ahead of the Pre-Season
The Maple Leafs lost a key piece of their lineup in the off-season, and now they've got major concerns on the injury front to veteran forward Max Domi.
Last season was a successful one for the Toronto Maple Leafs, but given the changes this off-season with the departure of Mitch Marner, the lineup will look very different moving forward.
Two thirds of the first line of Auston Matthews and Matthew Knies are seemingly locked in, but now, there's a glaring hole on the right side, one that Toronto will need to fill if they are to replicate that regular season success in 2025/26.
Top Candidate To Fill Marner's Role Dealing with Injury
Now, the Maple Leafs got some bad news on a potential top-line candidate, as it has been reported by Daily Faceoff that veteran forward Max Domi is out day-to-day with training camp approaching as he deals with a lower-body injury.
TSN's Chris Johnston gave an update on Domi's situation, revealing that he won't be 100% ready to go for the start of training camp, but at this point in time, there's no genuine fears that he could miss any time during the regular season.
Last season was a disappointing one for Domi in Toronto, as he played in 74 games, tallying just 8 goals and 33 points in that time, but this season with a chance to find a solidified role in this lineup, there's a chance for him to bounce back.
Now, both the player and the team will be hoping that this is nothing more than a slight setback, as he remains a key piece of this team as they look to finally turn regular season success into a deep Stanley Cup Playoffs run.
