The Toronto Maple Leafs have high hopes for their 2025 season, but at their latest practice, something wasn't right as Craig Berube has berated his players.
This season has been going well thus far for the Toronto Maple Leafs, as the team currently find themselves in second place in
the Atlantic Division, just two points back of the defending Stanley Cup Champion
Florida Panthers.
With just four wins in their last 10 games however, time is running out for them to find momentum before the Stanley Cup Playoffs arrive, and after a Saturday loss to the
Nashville Predator, frustration is growing in the locker room.
At their latest practice, Craig Berube reportedly shut things down after the very first drill, with reporters revealing that the Stanley Cup winning Head Coach was berating and 'shouting f-bombs at a few players' on the ice.
It's unclear exactly what was happening on the ice that caused Berube so much frustration, but given the amount of talent on the ice and their results as of late, it's easy to see why a veteran coach would be frustrated with things.
This comes just two days after he called out the team for their defensive performance against Nashville, where the amount of breakdowns for a team that is this good simply wasn't acceptable.
In years gone by, the Maple Leafs may not have had a coach that would call them out like this and hold them accountable, but this is the exact reason that Kyle Dubas and the front office went out to get Berube in the summer, and with all of the talent and the regular season success behind them, now is the time for him to repay that faith and finally push this team to some success in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
