Former Top-Five Pick Linked to the Maple Leafs by Analysts
Jesse Puljujarvi has been in and out of the NHL in recent years, and now he's been linked to a potential PTO with the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Coming into this off-season, the Toronto Maple Leafs expected plenty of change, and with the departure of Mitch Marner, they've certainly got that change as they have added several pieces to replace the 100-point winger.
That's led to a major logjam up front for the Maple Leafs, something that General Manager Brad Treliving will need to deal with before the 2025/26 regular season officially begins.

Now, 6ixonice have looked into potential professional tryout candidates for the Maple Leafs this off-season as training camp and the regular season draw near, with one former top-five draft pick making perfect sense for the organization.
That would be former Oilers forward Jesse Puljujarvi, who last played in the NHL in 2024/25 with the Florida Panthers, getting to appear in just five games for the team before returning to Europe.
That return to his home continent would make a PTO hard for Puljujarvi, but if he believed there was a chance to play significant NHL minutes this season, it's a chance that he and the team may eventually look to take.
Throughout his career, the former No. 4 overall pick has tallied 58 goals and 128 points through 387 games played, and while he never quite took the leap that Edmonton were hoping in the early years, he showed potential, and that's potential that teams won't give up on, so don't be shocked to see a PTO for the former top pick.
