Minnesota Wild GM Calls Out Controversial Insider Frank Seravalli for Lying About Kaprizov Contract

Following reports that Minnesota Wild star Kirill Kaprizov rejected a $128 million contract offer, Wild GM Bill Guerin is now pushing back on analyst Frank Seravalli's initial report.
Reports surfaced earlier today that Minnesota Wild star forward Kirill Kaprizov turned down a contract extension offer that would have made him the highest paid player in NHL history.
Per analyst Frank Seravalli of The Daily Faceoff, Kaprizov rejected a contract worth $128 million with an AAV (average annual value) of $16 million, which would have been the highest amount for any player in League history.
Sources say #mnwild superstar Kirill Kaprizov's camp turned down an extension offer believed to be 8-years, $128 million in a meeting on Tuesday in Minnesota that would have made him the highest-paid player in #NHL history in both AAV ($16 million) and total dollars.
But now, Wild GM Bill Guerin is telling a different story.
Bill Guerin denies record-breaking offer to Kirill Kaprizov
Guerin pushed back on Seravalli's report, saying that the information for Seravalli's report didn't come from Kaprizov or his agent, himself, or the team itself.
I know two things, that info didn't come from us and it didn't come from Kirill's agent, I don't know where it came from. Kirill and the organization, his agent and I have a very good relationship. We're working through things. We're not gonna let things like this get in the way. I still think we're in a really positive place with Kirill. Like I said, he's just a great guy. Part of my role is to protect him, so we're gonna let this go and we just move on.
Kaprizov can legitimately claim the title of best player in Wild history, which is now at a quarter century.
His 386 points (185G, 201A) in just 319 career games are already 5th most in team history, and he was the quickest to accomplish it.
