Former NHL player Mikhail Grabovski charged after alleged incident in Markham

This afternoon former Maple Leaf Mikhail Grabovski has been charged with a major crime for his alleged actions during a junior hockey game.
Mikhail Grabovski had a long and successful NHL career playing 10 seasons in the league with half of those being as a member of the Maple Leafs.
After his successful tenure in Toronto, Grabovski had multiple short NHL stints including stops with the Washington Capitals and New York Islanders.
He would also end up with the Vegas Golden Knghts but failed to record a game with them before retiring due to injury.
Since then, Grabovski has gone into coaching and is the head coach of a U-15 team in Markham, Ontario and today, reports have confirmed he was arrested for an alleged incident during a youth hockey game.
Mikhail Grabovski charged after alleged altercation with a coach
According to reports, Grabovski the head coach of a U-15 hockey club allegedly went after the coach of an opposing team Warren Cooper during a playoff game between the two sides.
The opposing coach Cooper was reportedly treated for minor injuries and released shortly after while Grabovski was charged and will now face potential punishment.
Further reporting from the Toronto Star has confirmed that Grabovski is due back in court on June 12th in Newmarket.
It remains to be seen what kind of alleged punishment Grabovski is facing and how long the legal process will take but he now has his next steps.
