Craig Berube reveals more details on gruesome injury to his head

The Toronto Maple Leafs have suffered many scars on the ice this season, with their record now sitting at 24-18-9 as they officially now sit in sixth place in the Atlantic Division standings following their defeat at the hands of the Vegas Golden Knights.

Things haven't been going well off the ice either, as on Friday, their Head Coach revealed a brutal scar to his head in what he described to the media as 'not a big deal' and a result of a gym accident.

After the Maple Leafs loss to the Golden Knights, Craig Berube revealed some more details on the situation, stating that he needed close to 50 stitches to fix the situation.

It wasn't something that his players avoided talking about either, as Auston Matthews revealed his reaction to the brutal looking scar that has covered Berube's head for the past 24 hours.

As both Berube as now Matthews have stated, this is one that looks a lot worse than it is, and while the injury must have been a painful one, the Head Coach doesn't seem too bothered by it.

Given his history of physical play on the ice in the NHL, Berube is going to be fine, but given how bad the scar looks, most fans would love to know the story behind the injury that left him with close to 50 scars on his head.
