Auston Matthews comments on Maple Leafs' season after tough start

Auston Matthews likes what he's seen from the Toronto Maple Leafs after they won four of their six games on their road trip before returning back home to Scotiabank Arena against the divisional foe Montreal Canadiens tomorrow.
The six game road trip for the Toronto Maple Leafs didn't start the right way, as they were beaten 5-2 by the divisional foe Montreal Canadiens on November 22. But from that point on, they won four of their next five games.
Their 5-1 win over the Carolina Hurricanes and ex-teammate Frederik Andersen was the fourth win of the six game road trip, and it's what captain Auston Matthews liked to see.
I thought it was great, we stuck together. We got full group efforts night in and night out, all four lines contributing. It's all you can ask for. That's a great road trip for us. We just want to keep that momentum building.
Matthews, who scored in the win, also pointed out the performance of teammate Matthew Knies, who scored as part of the win.
He's such a beast, he sticks with it and he's so hard to handle. It was a big one for us to extend our lead. He's such a handful out there and a big body, so it was fun to watch.
The Maple Leafs Lost Goaltender Joseph Woll During Their Win Over the Carolina Hurricanes Last Night
Even though the Maple Leafs picked up the win, it came at a cost, as they lost goaltender Joseph Woll.
Woll started the game in place of usual starter Anthony Stolarz, who has been unavailable since last month with an injury and isn't any closer to returning.
After Woll left the game, he was replaced by Dennis Hildeby, who made saves on all nine shots the Hurricanes fired his way.
If Woll is forced to miss any amount of time, it would be the latest setback for the Maple Leafs on the injury front.
