Will Smith Among Sharks Players Who Believed Hilarious Lie About Carey Price Unretiring to Play for San Jose

This has been a very slow NHL off-season, but one of the biggest stories was the trade of Montreal Canadiens veteran Carey Price, who was acquired by the young San Jose Sharks.

It was just the final year of the veteran goaltenders contract that was acquired to help the Sharks get to the salary cap floor, but still, news of this came as a major shock to some fans.

That surprise extended to players as well, as Cat Toffoli, the wife of Sharks veteran Tyler has now revealed an amazing story where her husband pranked the young players on the team, convincing them that he had the inside scoop and that Price was coming out of retirement to play.

Obviously, most people are well aware that this was not going to be the case, and while Cat didn't reveal everyone that was fooled, she did name Will Smith as likely the most gullible person involved in the prank from Tyler.

Clearly, now that the story is out there, the young players are well aware that he isn't indeed going to return to the ice, but ultimately that his contract was simply used as a way for the Sharks to get an asset rather than the player himself.

However, this is another hilarious example of a veteran player pranking a younger player, and while it may seem surprising looking from the outside, knowing Toffoli's connection to Montreal, it's very easy to see why Smith was convinced this was the truth.
