San Jose Sharks let go of 2022 draft pick Mason Beaupit
The San Jose Sharks will be letting go of 6'5 goaltending prospect Mason Beaupit after he struggled following being drafted.
It is rare to find a goaltender that is both tall and athletic. The San Jose Sharks could have hit the jackpot when they selected Mason Beaupit in the 4th round of the 2022 NHL draft. Beaupit, a 6'5" goaltender who moves well, had high upside and could be an elite goaltender at the NHL level.
However, after a few disappointing seasons which saw him get relegated to the BCHL for the 2023-24 season, the Sharks will be parting ways with the goaltender.
It's no surprise, but #SJSharks will not be signing goalie Mason Beaupit to an ELC. The 2022 fourth-round pick becomes a free agent:
Beaupit will now become a free agent and will be able to sign with any team in the NHL after July 1st. There is a chance that no NHL team looks to sign the goaltender and he will be forced to sign a minor league deal.
Beaupit still has upside but he will need to turn things around if he wants to make the NHL one day and prove the San Jose Sharks wrong.
