Macklin Celebrini was full of life last season, but now, his dejected interview has sparked fan reaction about the San Jose Sharks current situation.

During the 2024/25 season, Macklin Celebrini's emergence in San Jose was a major story, with the No. 1 overall pick having a fantastic campaign, scoring 25 goals and 63 points in 70 games played.
On top of that, his friendship with fellow top prospect Will Smith made for plenty of incredible moments, with the fans in San Jose clearly falling in love with their two fun, out-going young stars.

Celebrini's Demeanor Change Sparks Fan Reaction

In five games this season, Celebrini has 1 goal and 5 points, showing that he's clearly ready to take a major step forward, but in interviews, people have clearly seen a difference.
Especially after their latest game, with Celebrini's signature smile and upbeat attitude clearly missing, with fans worrying that the stress of one losing season is getting to the former No. 1 overall pick.
While Celebrini didn't say anything outrageous, his body language said plenty, and on social media, fans voiced their concerns over the situation, noting that he could leave once his Entry Level Deal is up.
Most fans however recognize that when you go No. 1 overall, you go to a bad team, and simply put, there's going to be plenty more losing before the Sharks can turn things around fully.
Ultimately though, with Smith, Michael Misa, William Eklund and other young players of the future, the core for success is there, and if they can go through the growing pains together, this could be a fantastic team for years to come.
