NHL analyst shockingly states Sidney Crosby isn't done winning with Penguins
Prominent NHL analyst and former player Frank Corrado believes Sidney Crosby and the Pittsburgh Penguins have a shot at the Cup, shocking the fans.
Frank Corrado, a former NHL defenseman and now a hockey analyst, is really confident that Sidney Crosby can keep winning with the Pittsburgh Penguins. Even though the team has had some tough playoff runs lately, Corrado believes Crosby, one of the best players of his time, still has what it takes to lead the Penguins to more championships.
"I'm going to say not, and this might be an unpopular opinion based on the lack of success that the Pittsburgh Penguins have had the last couple of years." Corrado said."But I find it hard to believe that in "now or never" mode, we are not going to see Sidney Crosby playing in the playoffs as a member of the Penguins. And this year specifically, the Metro is a little more wide open."
Frank Corrado's optimism comes from Crosby's incredible work ethic, smart play, and leadership. He notes that Crosby's dedication to staying in shape and his ability to tweak his game as he gets older are huge reasons why he'll stay competitive. Plus, Crosby's deep understanding of hockey helps him adjust and stay ahead, even as the league gets younger and faster.
"Outside of the Rangers and the Devils, who have to take a significant step, the Islanders aren't overly exciting, Carolina might take a step back, and the Washington Capitals are trying to improve."You can put the Pittsburgh Penguins in that category of teams-clump them in there maybe they have a chance." Corrado explained.
Corrado also emphasizes the importance of the players around Crosby. He thinks that if the Penguins can bring in the right players, whether through trades, drafts, or developing their own talent, they could become a serious contender again. The main thing, according to Corrado, is for the Penguins' management to build a team that complements Crosby's strengths and helps boost his impact on the ice.
"It's now or never for the Penguins, but with Sidney Crosby maybe playing for a few more years, we might see him in the playoffs one more time as a Penguin. I sure hope we do, just as hockey fans," Corrodo added.
In short, Corrado believes Sidney Crosby's future success with the Penguins isn't just about his own skills but also about the team's ability to regroup in their attempt to go for another Stanley Cup. With Crosby's winning mindset and the right team around him, Corrado sees more victories ahead for Pittsburgh.
Sidney Crosby finished last season with 42 goals, 52 assists, and 94 points in all of his team's 82 games he played in. He was a true warrior for the Penguins.
