The New York Rangers are two wins away from reaching the Stanley Cup finals, but things could have gone very differently has the Penguins made the playoffs this year.

At least, that is what one player thinks. Penguins forward Bryan rust did an interview with popular video game streamer Ninja today, where they talked hockey. During the interview, Rust stated that he thinks the Penguins could have beat the Rangers in the first round had it been them playing and not the Washington Capitals.

In an interview with Ninja, Bryan Rust said he believes the Penguins would've beaten the Rangers in the first round if Pittsburgh made it instead of Washington 👀

The interview has fans confused but certainly entertained. Most were simply confused as to why Rust was on a stream with Ninja in the first place. After all, he isn't exactly known for his hockey content, nor is he a Pittsburgh native.

Wait why was Bryan Rust talking to Ninja? That's so random 🤣

That being said, the content of the interview was just as bizarre. Does Rust think the Penguins really would have beat the Rangers had they met in the first round? The Rangers had a 26 point advantage over the Penguins, and 55 wins to the Penguins 38.

Bryan Rust says Pittsburgh could have beaten the Rangers. The weirdest part about this clip is it was on a @Ninja stream

The Penguins did end the season on somewhat of a hot streak, but even then, the gap between the two teams was rather massive. The Penguins were undoubtedly a better team than the Capitals, but that isn't saying much considering the Caps were swept in a series that was not competitive. We will let the fans decide this one.
