The Philadelphia Flyers recently lost a tough matchup against the Flames, and now Rick Tocchet has revealed he feels sorry for the fans for the game.
This off-season, the Philadelphia Flyers made plenty of changes, but the biggest of all was behind the bench, with the team bringing in a person very familiar with the organization in Rick Tocchet.
With the addition of
Trevor Zegras to a team full of exciting young players, hopes were high heading into this season, and overall, with a record of 6-5-1, they've shown plenty of potential through their first 12 games.
Rick Tocchet Feels Bad For The Fans After Recent Performance
However, their last performance was perhaps one of their worst this season, as the team fell to the struggling Calgary Flames
2-1 at home, with the team managing just one goal late in the third period, tallying a total of just 18 shots in what was a very boring game overall.
That was something that Tocchet addressed following the game, and to put it bluntly, he wasn't impressed with his team, stating that he felt sorry for the fans who had to sit through that performance.
It was an ugly game. I feel bad for the fans. It wasn't a fun game to watch.
Before their last two tough losses, the Flyers had won five of their last six games heading into that one, showing that they can get it done, but after that defeat to the Flames, there's been plenty of negativity swirling around this squad.
Ultimately though, they've taken a step or two in the right direction already in 2025/26, and if they can put that one behind them and rebound against Montreal on Tuesday, they'll go a long way to showing that they can be a potential Wild Card team in the Eastern Conference this season.
