The New York Rangers have big expectations heading into their second round battle, and their coach is showing plenty of frustration in game one.

While the Rangers are up 3-1 in game one against the Carolina Hurricanes, it hasn't been all smooth sailing, as Matt Rempe was given a penalty for goaltender interference.

It was clearly a questionable call, as Hurricanes captain Jordan Staal pushed Rempe towards his own goaltender, and unsurprisingly, Peter Laviolette was furious on the Rangers bench, with Rangers fans sharing in his contempt for the officiating.

«Peter Laviolette hasn't loved the officiating so far»

That makes two of us, Peter. #NYR

Seemingly every game of the playoffs thus far there has been major questions around the officials for both parties involved, and at this point, fans are fed up with the inconsistency. With a full period left and a two goal lead, the Rangers may get themselves out of game one with a 1-0 series lead, but the officiating needs to get better, as Laviolette has had every right to be frustrated thus far, so hopefully things can improve as the playoffs roll on.
