Juuso Parssinen was once a promising young player in the NHL, but given his recent struggles, he has officially been waived by the New York Rangers.
The New York Rangers were hoping for a bounce back campaign in 2025/26, but after a very slow start to the season with a record of 11-11-2 through their first 24 games, it's looking like they may struggle to reach the Stanley Cup Playoffs in the Eastern Conference again.
This comes despite having some incredible veteran talent, but with a lack of depth players that are performing at their best, they've simply not been able to find their consistency early in the year.
Juuso Parssinen placed on waivers on Tuesday
Now, people are starting to pay for the Rangers struggles, beginning with young forward Juuso Parssinen, who was officially placed
on waivers by the team on Tuesday.
This comes after a slow start to the season for the former seventh-round draft pick, as he has tallied just 2 goals and 3 points in 14 games, with Head Coach Mike Sullivan calling out his lack of production recently.
I think it's been sporadic. I think he's had some games where he's played very well for us. It's just competitive with some of the guys that we have and we're trying to make the best decisions for the team as possible.
Ever since arriving in the NHL back in 2022/23 with Nashville, Parssinen has shown potential, but now, he's been waived by his third team after the Predators and Avalanche gave up on him, with his NHL future now very uncertain.
At 24-years of age however, there's still potential there, and given the need for depth forwards around the league, there's a chance he gets claimed on waivers within the next 24 hours.
