Legendary New York Rangers Broadcaster Sam Rosen Calls Out the Struggling Team
New York Rangers play-by-play announcer Sam Rosen is doing everything he can to motivate the team to make the playoffs in his final season before retirement.
The Rangers have had a brutal season this year as just about everything that could have gone wrong has.
Things have not gotten any better for the team in recent days either. The team is currently on a three-game losing streak, and frustrations are clearly growing.
Now, one iconic member of the organization is trying his best to rally the team.
That would be none other than play-by-play announcer Sam Rosen, who has apparently been making visits to the team's locker room in an effort to boost their moral.
Notably, Rosen is retiring at the end of the season, so this will be his last chance to call games for the Rangers in the playoffs.
"I look forward to every game now till the end of the season. I'm trying to drag this team into the playoffs with me. I walk around the locker room at practice giving them encouragement, 'Come on, guys, you can do it!' They're not listening to me, but hopefully that'll change in the next couple of weeks.
I've been able to focus most of the season just on the games and the travel and the team and the race, and the ups and downs of the team. But it's getting down to the short numbers."
Unfortunately for Rosen and the entire Rangers fan base, it certainly seems more likely than not that the team will be on the outside looking in this year.
Hopefully they can turn things around quickly next year, but we will just have to wait and see how things shake out over the offseason.
