Josh Levio hasn't been in the NHL for a few years now, but the veteran forward has now set an impressive record in the KHL in Russia.
Between 2013 and 2023, Josh Levio played in the NHL with Toronto, Calgary, Carolina and St. Louis, but over the past two seasons, he's been thriving in Russia playing in the KHL.
Now, the 31-year old has made history, as his latest goal marks No. 49, with the entire Ufa Salavat Yulayev bench celebrating with the veteran, as he officially becomes the single season highest goal scorer in the history of the KHL.
In his 62nd game, Leivo has tallied 49 goals and 80 points, showing that while there was little interest in him in the NHL, he still has plenty to offer the game of hockey at the highest level.
In two seasons with Ufa Salavat Yulayev, Leivo has tallied an impressive 64 goals and 118 points in 102 games played, and while it may not lead to a return to the NHL anytime soon, he's clearly beloved by his team and the fans over there as he makes history.
At 31-years of age, there's still plenty of time for Leivo to get back to the NHL if the interest is there, as he has 265 games of experience under his belt and clearly, the ability to put the puck in the back of the net at an elite level.
Ultimately, Leivo was seen by many as a player that could never fulfill his potential in the NHL after being drafted in the third round, but now, he finds himself as one of the best players in the KHL, and with this record setting campaign, he's set himself up for a massive payday, whether that's in the KHL or back in North America.
