The New York Rangers' captain Jacob Trouba spoke about his $5,000 fine for elbowing Florida Panthers' Evan Rodrigues in an interview.

During the third game between the Rangers and the Panthers, a dangerous incident occured and it caused quite the stir among both teams' fanbases.

The controversial player Jacob Trouba landed yet another dirty hit. He extended his elbow to hit Rodrigues' head and only got a two-minute penalty.

Check out the incident in the following video:

While many fans wanted the NHL to suspend the Rangers' captain, they did no such thing and opted for a fine instead:

"NY Rangers' Jacob Trouba has been fined $5,000, the maximum allowable under the CBA, for elbowing Florida's Evan Rodrigues."

Following that announcement, Trouba made an official declaration, in which we can't find any source of remorse from the captain:

"#NYR captain Jacob Trouba on the elbow play he was fined for:

«It all happened pretty fast. It's not something you're thinking about 1,000 times over and over again. I think it just happens fast, it's hockey.»

No. 8 added that he has to be more disciplined."

Following that disappointing decision from the NHL's Department of Player Safety, there's very little doubt that the Panthers will try to seek revenge tonight, during the 4th game of the series.

Do you think the NHL made the right decision by giving a fine to Jacob Trouba instead of a suspension?
