The Nashville Predators are searching for a new General Manager, but after enlisting the help of CAA for their search, they've hit a major roadblock.
The past two seasons have been incredibly rocky for the Nashville Predators, and after finishing around the bottom of the league a year ago, they've struggled to turn things around in a significant way this season.
That led to the departure of General Manager Barry Trotz, who stepped down from the role recently, and while he did so, he will remain with the organization and help them in their search for a new GM.
In doing so, the organization enlisted the help of CAA to help their search, but after that, a report revealed that the NHL was investigating the situation due to a conflict of interest with the agency.
NHL make official ruling on the Predators GM search
Now, it has been made official that CAA have parted ways with the Predators following the NHL's investigation, as rules make it clear that no agency that represents players can have a hand in a front office around the league.
This is another setback for the Nashville Predators, who were likely hoping to have a new GM hired by the end of the Olympic roster freeze ahead of what could be a very critical trade deadline for the organization.
Ultimately, there's still time, and with the links that Trotz has around the league, there's a chance that they can still find someone qualified that aligns with their goals, but following this change, it's easy to see why things may be getting frustrating in Nashville.
