Patrik Laine sweepstakes heating up: One team emerges as a clear frontrunner

Per NHL analyst David Pagnotta, the Los Angeles Kings are a team that could be considering a trade of Patrik Laine from the Montreal Canadiens before Friday's trade deadline.
Montreal Canadiens forward Patrik Laine has not played since October since undergoing core muscle surgery, but that hasn't stopped rumours from picking up that he could soon be on the move.
Per a new report from analyst David Pagnotta, the Los Angeles Kings are a team that have shown interest in acquiring Laine.

The Kings have already made a major trade this year, acquiring Artemi Panarin from the struggling New York Rangers.
The trade deadline is March 6.
Patrik Laine Has Experienced Multiple Injuries Since Joining The Canadiens
Laine has experienced multiple injuries since he joined the Habs from the Columbus Blue Jackets.
His most recent injury took place in October against the Nashville Predators, and he was forced to undergo core muscle surgery and has not played since then.
Laine, who is a pending UFA at the end of this year, is in the last year of his contract with an AAV (average annual value) of $8.7 million.
In 537 career games with the Winnipeg Jets, Blue Jackets and Canadiens, Laine has 422 points (224G, 198A).
