Evgeny Kuznetsov's Agent Shuts Down Signing Rumours With One Specific Canadian Team

For years, Evgeny Kuznetsov was a key piece of the Washington Capitals and their successful run, but in recent times things haven't gone as well for the star Russian forward.

Not only has he dealt with injuries, but he also lacked interest last off-season, as the 31-year old returned to the KHL, playing with SKA St. Petersburg, tallying 12 goals and 37 points in 39 games before departing the organization.

Now, he's looking for an NHL return, with reported interest in the veteran around the National Hockey League as he looks to kick start his career at the highest level once more.

One of the teams that people have connected Kuznetsov too is the Montreal Canadiens, and the reason behind that was his SKA St. Petersburg connection to star rookie Ivan Demidov.

However, a recent report has revealed that he's narrowed interest down to two teams that have not been named as of right now, with the Canadiens and Capitals not among them.

In Kuznetsov's last NHL season, the veteran appeared in 63 games, tallying 8 goals and 24 points in that stretch, and while he showed great flashes in the KHL, he'll need a major bounce back if he is to be a genuine contributor this season.

At this point in time, it's a matter of when, not if Kuznetsov signs his next NHL deal, and while he wasn't impressive in his last NHL season, if it's a team that has great depth and plenty of talent around the veteran winger, he could thrive in his given role if the team is the right one.
