Wild forward Nico Sturm went to the hospital for a precautionary exam after a puck hit his head Monday, weeks after Brock Faber's skull fracture.

Nico Sturm was taken to a hospital for a precautionary evaluation Monday night after a puck struck the side of his helmet in the first period of Minnesota's 4-2 win over the Vegas Golden Knights.
The shot came from captain Jared Spurgeon.
Sturm went down, the building went quiet, and he eventually skated off slowly with help from Michael McCarron and the head athletic trainer.
Coach John Hynes had no real update late Monday, but he said Sturm was doing well and keeping a good attitude.
He also didn't expect the 31-year-old forward to make the trip to Winnipeg for Tuesday's game.

Faber's injury still hangs over the room

It was impossible not to think of Brock Faber.
The defenseman suffered a fractured skull when a puck hit the left side of his head in the preseason finale against the Dallas Stars on Sept. 25, and he had surgery two days later.
He is out indefinitely, and the team has kept details limited.
There was some good news. Faber was at the rink Monday and watched the game, and Hynes said he has made a lot of progress.
Another medical evaluation is coming soon.

Fans are worried about more than a quick recovery

The mood around Faber has shifted, and one fan summed it up well.
The wish for a fast recovery has turned into a hope that this does not follow him for the rest of his life.
The post ended with prayers for Faber.
For now, all eyes are on Sturm's condition.
The Wild (4-1-1) play at Winnipeg on Tuesday and wait for more word on both players.
