Patrik Laine's market is taking shape, and a few familiar names keep surfacing. According to insider David Pagnotta, the winger's list now sits at five teams, giving fans a clearer picture of where he could land.

Speaking with Hello Hockey, Pagnotta said the group is not a new one.
It's the same group of teams that kind of explored that possibility back in July; you have Calgary...but there's LA; Tampa; Boston; Minnesota

Five Clubs, One Clear Pattern

The five clubs are Calgary, Los Angeles, Tampa Bay, Boston and Minnesota. Pagnotta's point is that nothing has changed in terms of who is interested.
The same teams that did their homework in the summer are still the ones circling now, which points to steady interest rather than a sudden scramble.
For the clubs involved, the appeal is easy to see. Laine is a high-end shooter who can change a power play, and a short list gives him leverage to choose the right fit.
Calgary, Los Angeles, Tampa Bay, Boston and Minnesota all offer different roles, lineups and expectations, so the decision may come down to opportunity and comfort.
The July timeline matters here. Interest that surfaced early in the summer and still holds today tends to point toward genuine intent rather than casual due diligence.
It also fits with earlier reporting from Elliotte Friedman that Laine has a say in the matter and a preference on where he ends up, so a smaller group of fits makes sense.

What Comes Next for Laine

Nothing is official yet. Still, a defined group of five gives each organization a reason to sharpen its pitch, and it gives fans a manageable list to track.
Expect more chatter in the coming days as insiders try to learn which club, if any, is pulling ahead.
For now, Calgary, Los Angeles, Tampa Bay, Boston and Minnesota are the names to watch, and Laine's next move could reshape the wing depth of whichever club lands him, and every front office involved knows it.
