Matthew Tkachuk is set to undergo surgery this off-season, but according to Evan Renaerts, the delay in the surgery could cost him a majority of next season.

The Florida Panthers went back-to-back in 2024 and 2025, and they managed to do it despite significant injury issues to some of their most important players throughout the season.
This year it was Matthew Tkachuk who missed much of the second half of the season, returning just in time to have a stellar post-season, picking up 8 goals and 23 points in 23 games played in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
However, after the post-season it was revealed just what the Panthers star winger was going through, with the revelation that he battled through a torn adductor and a sports hernia, with Tkachuk displaying the typical toughness that hockey fans have come to know and love.
Unfortunately, that toughness may cost him plenty of time this upcoming season, as hockey analyst Evan Renaerts revealing that he may have to miss a significant portion of the 2025/26 season after his surgery was delayed due to his wedding.
Matthew Tkachuk has not yet undergone the surgery that was planned to repair injuries he suffered last season.

Speculation is that his surgery likely was delayed given recent marriage on July 19th. As was with Evander Kane last year , this late summer surgery means he will miss significant time this coming season on LTIR, however not a full season.
Thankfully for Panthers fans, Renaerts notes that it's not likely to cost him the entire season, and if he manages to get back on the ice before the Stanley Cup Playoffs, this will put the Panthers in good stead to win their third straight Stanley Cup in 2026.
