Florida Panthers Break the Stanley Cup in Wild Celebration After Win Against the Oilers
The Florida Panthers are celebrating with the Stanley Cup for the second straight season, but before it left the ice, they'd already damaged the Cup during their immense celebrations in front of a very passionate and celebratory crowd.
Those celebrations are no doubt still ongoing down in the Sunshine State, but before the team even left the ice, they had reportedly damaged the Stanley Cup, with posts on social media showing a very clear crack in the iconic and greatest trophy in sports.
It's unclear exactly what happened here to one of the oldest trophies in sports, as it's been through the wringer over the years, but hopefully this crack isn't quite as bad as it seems.
Thankfully, the Cup has seen more than just one dent or crack over its time in existence, so this shouldn't be too big of an issue for the team to fix, and it's not even the first time we've seen it break on the ice in the last five years.
For now, the Cup will continue to go through the Panthers celebrations (although it probably won't go for a swim this year), and by the time it's ready to be celebrated with by individual players with their day with the Cup, it should look as good as new once again.
