Brady Tkachuk left NHL fans stunned after naming Seattle among the Canadian cities that booed him hardest last season.

Brady Tkachuk has never been shy about needling Canadian hockey fans, and his latest comments just gave everyone a brand new reason to laugh at him instead of with him.
During a candid conversation with his brother and now Florida Panthers teammate Matthew about which Canadian cities have booed him the hardest, Brady rattled off Edmonton and Calgary without hesitation. Then he tacked on Seattle.
“I was booed pretty good in Edmonton, I was booed in Calgary. In Seattle, nothing.”

That's the problem. Seattle sits comfortably in Washington state, nowhere close to Canada.
The Panthers forward seemingly blanked on basic geography while bragging about how much heat he used to draw north of the border during his years in Ottawa, and fans noticed almost instantly.
The clip spread fast, and it didn't take long before social media turned it into a full blown pile on.

A pattern of getting under Canadian skin

This isn't Tkachuk's first rodeo when it comes to Canadian crowds.
He's previously ranked Toronto as the loudest and most hostile building he played in as a Senator, describing how the arena erupted after he was shown on the Jumbotron following a scrum.
He's said more than once that he actually enjoys the boos, treating them as proof he's doing something right on the ice.

Fans pile on over the mix-up

Reaction to the Seattle comment ranged from lighthearted ribbing to genuine disbelief that a professional athlete who crisscrosses North America for a living could confuse the two countries.
Some fans defended him, chalking it up to an off-the-cuff slip.
Others weren't nearly as forgiving, using the moment to needle him right back after years of him poking fun at Canadian fanbases.
Whatever the explanation, the clip has taken on a life of its own online, adding another chapter to Tkachuk's long and colorful history with Canadian crowds as he settles into his new home in Florida.
