Oilers acquired Devon Levi from Buffalo, and now he's part of a three way battle with Jarry and Andersen for the crease.

The Edmonton Oilers walked into free agency with a plan most teams wouldn't dare try.
Instead of settling on one clear starter, they built a three goaltender group that has everyone from bloggers to insiders asking the same question.
Is Devon Levi actually the wild card in that mix?
Levi arrived in Edmonton on July 1 after being dealt from Buffalo, and his path to this point wasn't smooth.
He spent all of last season in the AHL with Rochester, working through the kind of stretch that tests a young netminder's confidence more than his glove hand.
Now he's got a fresh start with a team that's chasing a Stanley Cup, not rebuilding around a prospect timeline.

Why Levi could push past expectations

What makes Levi interesting isn't just his draft pedigree or his AHL numbers.
It's the mentality he's brought with him.
He's made it clear he's not intimidated by sharing a crease with two established NHL goalies, and there's a chip on his shoulder after feeling like his opportunities in Buffalo dried up too early.
A recent breakdown from ON Everyday dug into exactly this question.

What it means for the crease battle

Jarry and Andersen both bring experience Levi doesn't have yet, but experience isn't the same as certainty heading into a new season.
If either veteran stumbles out of the gate, Levi's the guy waiting in the wings with something to prove.
Oilers fans have watched goaltending sink promising rosters before, and this year the front office seems determined not to let that happen again.
