The Edmonton Oilers are reportedly interested in acquiring Tristan Jarry from the Pittsburgh Penguins to help their goaltending situation, but there's one alleged roadblock per NHL analyst Elliotte Friedman.

The Edmonton Oilers are in dire straits right now when it comes to their goaltending once again, as neither Stuart Skinner nor Calvin Pickard is getting the job done.
The Oilers are also stuck in a mediocre start to the season, and their struggling goaltending has played a major role in that.
Edmonton has now been linked to Pittsburgh Penguins goalie Tristan Jarry given the emergence of first-year Pittsburgh goalie Arturs Silovs and exciting prospect Sergei Murashov.
Per NHL analyst Elliotte Friedman, the main concern on the part of the Oilers would be the durability of Jarry.
But in theory, yes, I think Jarry is available. Now, I think the thing, and I wrote at length about this yesterday with the Oilers, and what I think they have to consider. The other thing I forgot to mention there, that Edmonton kind of indicated is, they want someone who's healthy. Because the worst thing that they, you can do is, you can make this move and then you trade for someone who's not available. And that's why they were nervous about (John) Gibson, and I know they've been nervous about Jarry for that reason. - Elliotte Friedman

Tristan Jarry Was Waived Last Year By The Penguins

Jarry struggled with consistency last year and was waived by the Penguins, and relegated to the AHL after not being claimed.
After the Penguins traded Alex Nedeljkovic to the San Jose Sharks, the starter's role once again appeared to be Jarry's. He's performed better this year, but could be considered expendable because of both Silovs and Murashov.
Jarry has two years left beyond this one on his contract with an AAV (average annual value) of $5,375,000.
