Stuart Skinner responds to emotional question about fans turning on him in Edmonton

Struggling Edmonton Oilers goaltender Stuart Skinner responded to a harshly worded question from Oilers analyst Jim Matheson about fans in Edmonton turning on him.
There isn't much going right for Stuart Skinner and the Edmonton Oilers right now, who were thrashed 8-3 by the Dallas Stars earlier this week. Skinner was yanked after allowing four goals, and Calvin Pickard didn't fare much better by allowing four goals of his own.
There is more scrutiny than ever on the state of Edmonton's goaltending, and there was a rather harsh question posed to Skinner by longtime Oilers analyst Jim Matheson.
Skinner began by saying:
Personally, I've been doing my best to show up consistently. Results will say that it hasn't gone our way, it hasn't been very favourable but that's life, isn't it?
Matheson responded:
The fans, every time they turn around, they want another goalie. They don't want you. That must hurt, or does it?
Skinner answered:
That's happened a lot here, no? It happens anywhere around the league. Goalies need to come up with big saves at big times. It's just part of the game of being a goalie.....Honestly, I love it, man. It's the best thing in the world being able to be a goalie. I've learned a lot about character and being able to pull yourself out of some really tough spots.
Both Stuart Skinner And Calvin Pickard Are Pending UFA's
Both Skinner and Pickard are playing on expiring contracts, and there are rumours circulating that GM Stan Bowman could start to get aggressive in the summer.
Even though most fans and analysts figured that a move to upgrade the goaltending was coming this past summer, no such move was made aside from the depth acquisition of Connor Ingram from the Utah Mammoth.
