Quinn Hutson is on his way to Edmonton to join the Oilers, but on his way, he had to deal with some major travel issues in a scary situation.
After their NCAA campaign wrapped up, Quinn Hutson, the older brother of Lane and Cole officially inked his first NHL deal with the Edmonton Oilers, and now he's on the way to join the team and potentially make his NHL debut.
Unfortunately, things got a little bit rocky on the way, as a United Airlines flight was caught on video with flames coming out of one of their engines, but the same flight also having to be redirected back to Denver over a possible wildfire strike.
After the incident was reported, NHL Insider Jeff Marek confirmed that this was the same flight bound for Edmonton that Hutson was on, but thankfully, all appears to be well.
In his social media post about the incident, Marek confirms that Hutson is not only well, but in Edmonton and available to make his NHL debut, but it's safe to say that this would have been an incredibly scary moment for the young man.
In 38 games this past season, Hutson put up 23 goals and 50 points, and while he doesn't come to the NHL with the hype of his brother in Montreal, if he can make an impact early with Edmonton, it's safe to say that he could be a very intriguing player for them moving forward.
Whether that happens or not, we are all thankful that this flight got to Edmonton despite the significant hiccups along the way, and now that he's safe, all eyes are on a matchup with the LA Kings on Monday and a potential debut for the Edmonton Oilers.
